A water pump built in the fifth century AD that still works today

(I use Google Translate because my knowledge of English is very limited. Point out any errors. Thank you.)

This article is often of interest to archaeologists or anyone interested in it. There are many places in Sri Lanka that you can visit for fun or for an adventurous experience and I hope to write about that later.

It is believed to have been built in the 5th century AD by King Kasyapa, a Sri Lankan king. It is located in the Dambulla area and belongs to the Central Province. The specialty of this palace is that the entire palace is located on a very high rock. The amazing thing is the technology that carries the water over the rock. The most interesting part of this system, which does not use water pumps or any other energy source, is that the water flowers in the water park are still active today.

A type of poem which is believed to have been written by those who visited this palace in the past can be seen on the Sigiriya stone wall. Sigiriya paintings similar to the paintings of the Ajanta Cave Temple in India can also be seen on the cave walls of this palace. You can find photos of this place and photos of that art by searching "Sigiriya" on the internet.

According to the information available on the internet and according to the archeological explorers of Sri Lanka, But Sri Lankans believe that the history of this place has a history even before King Kasyapa. There is a lot of legend and evidence for that in the area. I would like to mention just a few of them here.

According to the legends of Sri Lanka, Sigiriya is the palace of King Ravana. It is also believed that not only the existing ruins but also many other parts of the palace were found inside the rock. But unfortunately today no research is even conducted to find out about it.

The historical story of King Rawana has also been written in India. The book Ramayana, written in India, tells of a war between the kings Rama and Ravana. Also, according to the book, the description of the palace of King Rawana fits very well with this Sigiriya. However, according to the book, there is no entrance to the stone palace today.

When we look into it, we hear a sad story. This is a story discovered by an exploration team. After the discovery of Sigiriya, it was researched by an archaeologist named HCP Bell. Although it is difficult to find anyone who lived at that time, the group eventually found an old man living in a village near Sigiriya. According to him, he was one of the people who participated in the research at Sigiriya with Mr. Bell.

According to him, while Mr. Bell was researching Sigiriya, he saw that there was a gate to enter the stone palace. He notes that after entering it, there were many things of archaeological value in it, and that Mr. Bell took them all out of the palace. Eventually, however, Mr. Bell ordered his entourage to plaster the door and they did. The most important point of this story is that the door at the place where he is speaking is very similar to the description in the Ramayana. Somehow no one is talking about that group’s exploration or those things right now.

In addition to these facts, it is my opinion that there is more important information hidden in Sigiriya. There are many reasons for this in the Sigiriya Park. There is a part of Sigiriya Park that is not usually noticed by Sri Lankans or foreigners. There are many stones with very special types of markings. According to legends, King Rawana of Sigiriya used a machine called "Karkataka" which has a function similar to the elevator we use today. Sri Lankans believe that he also had aircraft technology that could be activated using mercury.

I would like to mention to you another very special thing about that land. There is an opinion that ancient Sri Lankans had the technology to float very heavy objects in the sky. Although it is not known whether the technology is mechanical or supernatural, there is ample evidence to support it at Sigiriya Park. In one place there is a very large rock. Today, the rock is so large that it is almost impossible to move it. But do you believe it is on man-made stone pillars? It is believed to be a stone trap used in the past.

The rock is positioned so that it can roll at the foot of a large rock with a single push. Today it is bound with a large piece of iron because it can be overturned. It is my hope that we will hear such wonderful information about Sigiriya with this technology in the future as well. But I have a negative opinion about archeological excavations in Sri Lanka. Remember to come to this place on a trip. Thank you. Bless the Triple Gem.
